About This Content The Class 67 is a very distinctive UK freight locomotive which can also turn its hand to passenger work, and now you can take control of this powerhouse in Train Simulator. The Class 67 diesel electric locomotive, nicknamed the ‘skip’ by railfans, was originally designed as a replacement for the Class 47 to haul high-speed mail and passenger trains. Built in Spain between 1999 and 2000 by Alstom with a General Motors engine and transmission, initial tests proved the Class 67 to be capable of over 140mph. However, the locomotive’s heavy axle load led to a 110mph speed restriction on the class until modifications to the bogies allowed a safe operating speed of 125mph. The locomotives are still restricted to lower speeds on certain routes and particularly at under-bridges because of their axle weight. The engines and running gear are the same as in the Class 66, but with higher gearing to allow faster running. These 90-ton locomotives can be found pulling freight trains, running Thunderbird passenger train rescue duties, hauling the Caledonian Sleeper and even pulling the Royal Train. I can't really fault this DLC. 10\/10. Bought this loco at list, as you get the sleeper carriages as standard. Play on this regular, as a sleeper train, all over the uk.Had good value for money out of this, you also get mail coaches as standard as well.. Many liveries and coaches and 67 is a cool trains!. Must have for any modern route especially with the stock that comes with it the sleeper coaches give you a lot of oppertunity for you to get reskins and make quick drive sleeper consists the MK1 RES BGs can let you make a TPO and the loco has several liveries even better now its \u00a35.99. Running sleepers with this is so very fun.. A very cool locomotive, here's what I think of the addon:+ did I mention it was cool?+ the visuals and sounds feel well done+ good choice of liveries+ not just one but two types of coaches included+ 5 enjoyable scenarios+ despite being old it still features some non-standard stuff i.e. train length button, a passenger\/goods mode selector. a passenger view and a separate parking brake button+ there's nothing to actually complain about. Very nice model, sounds are eh,(but AP makes them better) comes with lots of liveries, some rolling stock, has a good feel to it, personally think it's really good!. Very nice locomotive. 9\/10.
